Cancellation Policy

GENERAL POLICY GUIDELINES

Same Day Cancellation:
If the client cancels their hearing on the Docketly site the same day it is scheduled, the covering attorney will receive 100% of the fee.

Cancellation within 24 hours:
If the hearing is cancelled within 24 hours of when it is scheduled, the fee to the covering attorney will be 50% of the original posted fee.

EXCEPTIONS

Bundle and Super Bundle Exceptions:
This policy may not apply to any cancelled hearings which take place at the same time, in the same location, as non-cancelled hearings in which the attorney is scheduled to appear. In those instances, our "Bundle" or discount rate may be adjusted to reflect the decreased number of hearings the attorney is covering by increasing the individual rates of the remaining hearings.  This increase per hearing will not be equal to the original amount of the canceled hearing fee instead will reflect the adjusted bundle rate.

In some instances, a hearing may be accepted by an attorney and then canceled by the client within a short timeframe (typically within 15 minutes) because the client decides to send in-house counsel or secures alternative coverage.

When a cancellation occurs under these circumstances and no substantive preparation or work has been completed on the hearing, the fee will be refunded to the client.
