Weather and Natural Disaster Policy
In cases of extreme weather and events, we want to ensure everyone is informed about our Weather and Natural Disaster Policy and how you are compensated. If inclement weather or Natural Disaster event is predicted, please prepare for your hearing(s) as follows:
Check the Docketly website or mobile app to see if hearing(s) are canceled.
If the hearing(s) are not canceled, check the court's website or call the court, and notify Docketly.
If it is too dangerous to travel but the courthouse is open, please contact Docketly.
If there is no notice of a closure and it is safe to travel to the courthouse, but you find it closed upon arrival, please provide proof of what you see (e.g., a photo of the notice on the courthouse door, an empty parking lot, call from clerk, online docket etc.).
Your safety is our priority. Remember to stay safe!
Our policy:
In the case of extreme weather necessitating an unexpected court closure, hearings in which the Attorney Contractor appears at the designated assignment location to find that the venue is closed, the Attorney Contractor will be compensated half the regular fee. Evidence of the court notice regarding closure required for payment, including date/time notice was received by the covering attorney.
