Flexible Schedule Appearances

A hearing may be posted with a flexible schedule.  This means the appearance/task needs to be completed before the due date.

You will know it's a flexible schedule by the overview page under "When".  Flexible Scheduling will say "Yes" as shown in the image below.

It is important to begin working on the job as soon as possible once you have accepted coverage.  You will be reminded on your Daily Docket of open jobs you have accepted that have a flexible schedule.  This will help keep the job in front you and give you the opportunity to make progress on it each time you visit the courthouse before the due date.

If you have been working on the job, and find that it will require more time to complete (past the due date), you have the ability to request an extension on the job.  This may be a case where you are working on a bundle to retrieve documents from the clerk.  If the clerk has begun the request, but will not complete it before the due date, you will want to request an extension on the job.

It is important that you do not report hearing results until the job is completed.  Instead, you will find a button on the hearing and/or bundle page to "Extend Flex Date".

When you click this button, you will be prompted to provide a detailed update on the status of the job and the reason an extension is needed.  Important to note - this update will be sent directly to the client, so please be detailed and professional.
