Bundled Hearings Pricing
Overview
Prior to Docketly, collection firms would often negotiate bulk rates for a local attorney to appear on a docket for them. To remain competitive in the industry, we offer a bundling feature to our customers which mimics this market behavior. So ultimately since the attorneys are contracted by Docketly, we look at each docket by size and base our discounts on that across all our clients.
By utilizing our cost saving system, our customers post more hearings for you to cover. What does this mean to you, the attorney, covering bundles? At first glance, you may wonder whether it's worth it to cover bundles but that's only if you look at the fee per each hearing. Yes, instead of $50 per hearing, it may be $42 per hearing but you're covering several of them at the same time at the same court, so your one trip to the court will result in an overall higher fee even if the per hearing fee is lower. Most attorneys in our network value the bundles and gobble them up because they understand the value of doing approximately the same amount of work for quite a bit more money.
Description
Clients may create hearing bundles when they post them, e.g. they bundle 5 hearings at the same court at the same time.
Clients may also post individual hearings and then post more hearings at the same time at the same location individually. In this instance, you may have covered one already and see another notification of another hearing at the same court, same time. When you cover that second (or 3rd or 10th) hearing, it automatically goes into bundle pricing just as if the client posted the hearings as a bundle from the beginning.
Our bundle pricing basically works by the size of the docket that we have available for you. If we have 5 hearings on the docket that day, then our 5 hearing bundle discounts go into effect.
How It Works
When you visit our website to cover that additional hearing, you will see a FEE ALERT at the top of the page as shown below. This is your indication that your hearing bundle is being increased. In order to accurately reflect the pricing, the prices of all hearings in the bundle are adjusted to the new discount level. The FEE ALERT describes this by showing you the total amounts before and after as well as calculating the fee per hearing.
